Aldershot 1-2 Port Vale
A double strike from Louis Dodds earnt Vale a well-deserved away victory at Aldershot – a result that probably secures the side’s League Two position for this season.
Micky Adams made two changes to his starting line-up with Paul Marshall replacing Sam Morsy and Tom Pope replacing Ben Williamson. Chris Shuker was fit enough to be on the bench.
After a uneventful start, Vale took the lead on 13 minutes through Louis Dodds’ seventh goal of the season.
And with 15 minutes to go, the impressive Dodds made the game safe with his second of the game.
The home side pulled one back with four minutes to go through Risser but despite late Aldershot pressure, the Valiants held on to record their eighth away victory of the season.
