Midfielder Dave Brammer was signed by Port Vale manager Brian Horton in 1999 and was a member of Vale’s 2001 LDV Vans Trophy final winning side. He was voted player of the year before leaving to join Crewe for £500,000. He later had a brief spell with the Valiants in 2008.
