Mohammed duly opened the scoring and Doug Loft made it 2-0 after 17 minutes. Tomlin made it three on 26 minutes and trialist Liam Dickinson hit two goals before the break to make it 5-0 at half-time.
Vale introduced five members of their Development squad for the second half as they changed the entire playing eleven.
And Vale started the second period as they did the first with Ben Williamson netted Vale’s sixth after 48 minutes.
