Ellis Jones player profile

Youngster Ellis Jones was promoted from the youth ranks to make his debut for the senior side in October 2021’s Football League Trophy game against Rochdale. Jones was brought on at half-time to replace Brad Walker and impressed on his first senior start. Jones could even have scored with one late run into the box.

The Wednesbury born central midfielder was aged just seventeen and a second year scholar at the club when he made his first-team debut. However, he failed to build on that appearance and was loaned to Newcastle Town for a spell. He was released by the club at the end of the 2021-22 season.
