Port Vale manager John Askey has praised his players after the 3-0 home win over Colchester United and has singled one player out for particular praise.
Speaking after the match, Askey told the official Port Vale FC website that midfielder Tom Conlon had his best game so far in a Vale shirt commenting: “It’s great that we have so much competition, Tom Conlon has as good a game as I’ve seen him play, nice to see Mark Cullen come back in, obviously had a bit of a frustrating season but we all know what a good player and a good finisher he is.”

Conlon’s form gives Askey a welcome problem in central midfield. The form of Conlon and Scott Burgess is currently keeping Manny Oyeleke out of the starting eleven and with Jake Taylor nearing full fitness, there could be four players competing for two positions.
