We understand that getting to a home game at Vale Park is not as simple as some local radio commentators think.
It’s easy for media commentators to make overly simplistic, immature statements that “loyal” fans should be in the stadium but it’s patronising to think all fans live locally and have the finances and free time to get to every game.
You may live abroad or hundreds of miles away in another part of the UK. You may not be able to afford to travel. You may also have work, an illness or family commitments which prevent you attending. Football is not more important than you or your family’s welfare.
So, if you can’t make Tuesday’s game in person then you can follow the action live on the iFollow service whether you’re based in the UK or abroad.
In previous seasons, Vale would make no revenue from fans who couldn’t attend but nowadays a significant portion of the £10 you pay to watch via iFollow goes to the club – so if you’re watching online you’ve also benefiting the club and its new era financially too.
