Port Vale manager Neil Aspin said that Tom Pope and Anton Forrester “teamed up well” in the closing stages of the draw with Newport County.
Forrester came on as a sub and scored his second goal in a week to secure a 1-1 away draw.
Aspin commented that “they obviously teamed up well and you hope they will have that impact when you put a substitute on.”
“You have to go away from home and try and win the game… but if you come away with a point you think it’s not a bad point.”
