Vale forward Michael Husband has told the Staffordshire Sentinel he has set himself big targets for his second season at the club.
The former Walsall striker has agreed a one-year deal to stay with the Valiants and the 22 year-old is determined to prove his worth.
Husbands told the newspaper: “I’m here to prove something. I have to step up to the plate and score some goals for Vale.
“Because I am the youngest, that doesn’t mean less should be expected from me. I want to do something to get Vale up in the promotion places. I’m going to go at it all guns blazing, I want to be in the team not be a substitute.
“Hopefully, at the end of the season I will be the number-one striker, that’s the target I have set myself.
“I would like to be touching 15 goals, but I am more interested in starting games. I had 10 starts and scored five goals last season, so I would like to think if I can start 30 games I can get close to 15.”
