Norman Smurthwaite says a medical report may put a potential transfer target from Monaco in doubt.
“We have had a problem regarding a medical,” Smurthwaite told Radio Stoke.
“We know his quality and he was captain of Monaco reserves but there is a question mark now and we are trying to decide whether we draw up a new contract linked heavily to appearances.
“Bruno wants him but managers want as many players as they can get. I will have discussions with (the player’s) agent.”
