Port Vale owner Norman Surthwaite has tweeted suggesting that there could be an “interesting addition” but it is unclear if he means a friendly game or a new signing.
In a tweet, Smurthwaite said:

In reply to the tweet, some fans presumed the Chairman meant a new signing and some have urged the club to sign-up trialist Anton Forrester who scored twice in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Newcastle Town. Others think the chairman could be suggesting an additional friendly game.
The confusion does highlight the issue of updating fans solely via Twitter with its character limitations and limited audience. One fan asked:

Smurthwaite also said his work in Monaco (widely believed to be negotiations to bring in loan players) will finish on Sunday. He tweeted:

He also confirmed the signing of winger Christopher Mbamba:
