The only current Port Vale player to appear at a World Cup finals (2006) the midfielder qualified through his mother. Birchall retired from the side in 2013 and is the club’s record International appearance holder.

Signed in 1999, a prolific T&T schedule saw Rougier became the club’s most capped player despite him only spending 18 months at the club. He was then overtaken by compatriot Birchall.

The forward became the club’s seventeenth full International when he started for New Zealand in a friendly against Poland in September 2025. He scored in New Zealand’s 4-1 friendly win over Chile in March 2026.
