Port Vale have appointed former striker and manager Martin Foyle as their new chief scout.
Foyle was a John Rudge signing and scored 107 goals in 356 appearances for the club. He was also manager for a spell between 2004 and 2007. Noted for spotting promising talent, Foyle recommended Steve Brooker to the club and also signed the prolific Marc Richards.
Foyle has left his role as head of recruitment at National League club Carlisle United to reunite with Vale boss Jon Brady, having previously worked with him at Northampton Town.
Foyle told the official website: “It feels fantastic to be back. This Club has always meant a great deal to me and I’m excited to get started. I’m looking forward to rejoining Jon’s team and working alongside him to help bring the right players here not just for this season but ensuring we’re building for the future too.”
