According to website Football League World, Plymouth Argyle are in talks with Ronan Curtis over a possible move away from Port Vale.
A reminder on our Port Vale rumours features. These stories have been reported elsewhere on the web and are not started by OVF nor necessarily believed by us. We have published themselves because we think they are of interest but readers should remember that the vast majority of rumours never come to fruition – so treat these claims with caution!
Argyle signed striker Lorent Tolaj from Vale earlier this season for a reported £1.2m fee.
According to Football League World:
Argyle appear to have recently turned a corner under the previously under-fire Cleverley, winning four of their past seven league outings – a run which has propelled them out of the relegation zone for the time being, although they are far from over the hill on this particular front.
In recent weeks, Argyle have deployed a 4-4-2 formation which has aligned with the aforementioned improvement in results, with Xavier Amaechi and Bali Mumba featuring on the right and left flanks respectively in their 3-0 success over Burton Albion on Sunday afternoon.
However, it appears as though Cleverley is not fully satisfied with the current depth at his disposal in wide areas, and Football League World understands that Argyle are in negotiations to acquire the services of the aforementioned Curtis, who is a seasoned campaigner at League One level.
Curtis signed for the Valiants after leaving AFC Wimbledon in the summer on 2024. He scored five times as the Valiants secured promotion to League One last season. This campaign he has added a further three goals. He has totalled 73 appearances. Curtis is under contract until 2027 so there would be a transfer fee if any move was agreed.
Vale fans what do you think of this rumour? Would you be happy or sad if Curtis leaves? Post a comment.

We need to keep our creative players , like Ronan Cahos
Final straw if roman goes ..it shows vale havnt got any respect for there fans. Always getting rid of players that do well or have potential..also not ato another club in the same division . Well for now at least
Wld be a bad blow if he leaves. Match winner if used properly.
I don’t rate him, too inconsistent from my point of view. Only let him go if/when Richards back from walsall loan.
We will miss Super Sub Ronan if he goes to join Tolaj at Plymouth. The trio of Tolaj, Curtis & Stockley were the key to the goals required to get promoted last season. It depends how much Plymouth are willing to pay for him at this critical time of the season and whether Jon Brady has a better replacement lined up as we have long term injuries on the left side which Ronan has covered as best he could. He also delivers a good accurate cross which provides goals so he is versatile and marketable so should command a good transfer fee should the Vale decide to sell him at this point in the season.
Not unexpected speculation, after all it’s the transfer window and Curtis IMO is possibly the club’s most creative outlet. A transfer fee for Curtis combined with a £120K FA Cup win bonus against Fleetwood would give Brady some spending power to freshen up the squad. There might be several ins and outs.
Makes you wonder who has made this decision if Curtis does leave, as Brady has only been in place a couple of days and has hardly had time to assess any of the squad.
We have no idea if Ronan wants to stay or leave, or if personal circumstance or not. Or pure financial. All is pure speculation. He may be offered far more than the Vale as Plymouth will have a bigger budget. Fans playing Manager and CFO crack me up. The owners have put millions into the club via their business, have given people a chance (maybe a little too long granted but not the crime of the century) and still get constant abuse. Would love to see others throwing £2 million into the club, even if you had circa £10m available through cash and loans. Would you honestly? Knowing that you will also get the grief from all soon enough? Anyway, give the new manager a chance, he knows more than us all as is in the midst of it. There will be changes so lets support and see. UTV
Absolutely ridiculous vale stop getting rid of the best players
A very underwhelming player. Full of bluster. Not much end result. Always seemed to blame anyone else!
Not bothered in the slightest!
