We really hope this seemingly dodgy rumour is exactly that, as a website links Darren Moore’s side with a move for a fourth senior goalkeeper.
A reminder on our Port Vale rumours features. These stories have been reported elsewhere on the web and are not started by OVF nor necessarily believed by us. We have published themselves because we think they are of interest but readers should remember that the vast majority of rumours never come to fruition – so treat these claims with caution!
An African based football website says Port Vale are interested in a loan move for Blondy Nna Noukeu in the January transfer window according to a report in the Football League World website.
The transfer would be bizarre if true as the Valiants already have three senior keepers including Ben Amos and Marko Marosi – with another loanee, Joe Gauci, the number one.
If it were true, it would either mean Gauci returning to his parent club or the bizarre spectacle of Vale having four senior keepers and two loanees competing for the starting place.
Many fans would argue that the goalkeeping position is probably the lowest of the club’s transfer priorities in the transfer window.
24 year-old Noukeu was previously on the books of neighbours Stoke City before he moved to Sunderland in 2024. His only first-team experience to date has been two loan spells with Crawley Town and Southend United.
OVF’s one sentence rumour rating: This sounds like total nonsense to us.
Port Vale are looking to bolster their goalkeeper ranks with a loan move for Sunderland shot stopper Blondy Nna Noukeu. The Cameroonian goalkeeper has yet to make a first-team appearance for Sunderland since arriving in August 2024, and Africafoot are reporting that the League One side are “very interested in a loan” deal until the end of the season.Football League World
What do you think of this rumour? I it just mere clickbait or do you think there’s something in it? Please have your say and post a comment on this article below.

How many Goalkeepers does take to change a Changing room Light Bulb.
We don’t need a goalkeeper we need a MANAGER, a couple of wingers and a striker and preferably an owner who will LISTEN TO THE FANS, instead of listening to the drivel coming out of Mr Moores mouth or from MR Hancock, s Mouth, the insane are running the asylum.
Marco it depends who the manager is
This rumour sounds daft but with this manager’s recruitment it would not surprise me
Money seems no object where DM is concerned so why not. He could put play the 3 redundant keepers in midfield to give him a further excuse for not playing Ojo and Croasdale!!
Sorry “ he could PLAY “
The only way this paper talk makes sense is if there’s already a plan to release a couple of keepers in the January window. With Marosi seemingly out of the picture and Gauci on loan, it’s not beyond possibility. We’ll have to wait and see.
WHAT you are insane moore the last thing we need is another goal keeper we need a mid fielder not another bloody goal keeper come on Carol you need to get rid of moore this manager is pulling the wool over your eyes
Yes I’ve heard he Mr Moore is planning to play them all at once in a 3 5 2 3 formation .
So let me get this right we cant score a goal so best we get another keeper in the squad doesnt sound quite right perhaps if we put two goalkeepers in at same time might pick a point up come on darren get real
The insane are running the nuthouse called PVFC.
With this season already going down the plug hole anything is possible in the crazy world that is Port Vale.
What away to celebrate 150 years of this proud football club.
But wait what the club really wants us to celebrate is all the wonderful community out reach and inclusion work that is being done by the club.
You may ask but what about the football club you say it’s in the safe hands of Darren Moore who got us promotion last season and is now channeling all his efforts to get the club relegated to L2
It may amaze the owners and CEO that the crowds of people called supporters come to watch a game called football and they also travel far and wide to support their team . They hand over their hard earned cash and many hours of their time and what they expect in return is an entertaining match preferably with their team PORT VALE winning and they go home happy with memories of the match being recalled for many years in the future.
So get off your back sides and give the supporters what they want A TEAM TO BE PROUD OF WHO WILL NEVER GIVE UP AND WILL GIVE 100% EVERY MATCH HOME OR AWAY. If the manager and players do this the supporters will stick with them through the good times and the bad times.
If you don’t do this the supporters will drift away possibly for ever and the club have probably lost another generation of young fans.
