This website has had a page on Port Vale kits for some years. It has now been updated and has a greater number of Vale kits listed than any other Port Vale kit page.
OVF editor Rob Fielding commented: “It’s been a long process – not only trying to research the multiple kits but also to find relevant photos. There’s probably about three months work gone into this page.”
However, he acknowledges it is still a ‘work in progress’ and that entries can change. Fielding added: “It’s tricky for the club’s early years as the photos are black and white and so they are not great for identifying colours. As kits were not commercial in those days there does seem to be a lot of kit changes in the club’s early days and I suspect there are gaps. If any fans can fill them in and also correct any other errors please get in touch.”
The OVF kit page now includes:
- An image of every Vale kit we know of, including goalkeeper designs
- A list of kit manufacturers
- Records stretching back to 1898
- A number of one-off kits
We think it’s arguably the most comprehensive record of Port Vale kits online.
As usual, with this site, we welcome your input – so if you note an omission or an error please do let us know.
