Former Port Vale players Tom Sang and Luke Hannant have agreed moves to new clubs.
Utility man Sang, who was released at the end of the season, has joined Shrewsbury Town.
Sang, signed from Cardiff City two years ago suffered at Vale Park perhaps due to his ability to play several positions. He was employed at wingback where his delivery was good but his defensive play not so much and also as part of a back three and in midfield. He totalled 80 appearances for Vale, scoring once.
Sang has signed a two-year deal with Shrewsbury and director of football Mikey Moore said: “He can play and in multiple positions and is also a great person. His arrival means we now have 18 players in the squad, which I think gives Michael Appleton a great opportunity to get his principles and ideas into the group early.”
Meanwhile, former Valiant Luke Hannant has joined a contingent of former Vale players at Oldham Athletic. Hannant scored 15 times for Gateshead last season and was named player of the year.
Hannant told the Oldham website: “I’m buzzing to be here and can’t wait to get started. Oldham’s a massive club with a great fanbase and big ambitions, and the chance to be part of that was something I really wanted.”
