About the sponsorship

How much can I contribute?

To keep it simple, we are asking for contributions in multiples of £10. You can contribute £10 for one entry or (for example) £30 for three entries. For example, if you donate £30 you will also have three votes for the player to sponsor as well as three entries in the sponsorship event raffle.

What is the target?

We are awaiting this season’s prices but as a comparison, last season we raised £360 for a home kit sponsorship.

Which player will we sponsor?

We don’t want you to tell us your suggestions yet as some players have already been sponsored. When our target is reached, the club will pass on a list of all available players. Anyone who contributed will be asked to vote on who to sponsor with the majority decision final. Each £10 contributed will give you one vote (so if you give £30 you’ll have three votes on what player to select)

To ensure you have a chance of voting please ensure you include a valid and up-to-date contact details with your entry.

What do I get for donating?

Every £10 gives you one vote in selecting the player we sponsor and one entry into our lucky raffle.

There is a player sponsorship event during the season. The images are from the 2021-22 sponsorship of Lucas Covolan. This event usually includes a meet and greet with the manager, watching a training session, meeting the player, a gift and a meal.

We will hold a raffle draw and one person will be randomly drawn to attend this

Please note – we will attempt to contact winners before the event. If we do not receive a reply within 24 hours, we will move onto a reserve winner. To ensure you have a chance of attending the event please ensure you include a valid and up-to-date email address with your entry.

What happens if you exceed the target?

The pot fills quickly and we will close it ASAP when the target is reached. If we do go over the target, then those extra entries will be included in the player vote and raffle for the open day, but we will donate the excess money to the Lorne Street stand concourse appeal organised by the supporters club.

What happens if you don’t reach the target?

Any money raised will go to the Lorne Street stand appeal mentioned above.

Does all money go to the club?

Yes. We are using a system called Collectiv which charges no fees and OVF can (on request) provide proof of payment of the full amount to the club.

Anything else?

Yes, we have had a very occasional report of people who have contributed not receiving emails. Sometimes they go into spam or the email address supplied is incorrect. If you do contribute we would also recommend you “follow” (click the black button at the top RH corner) this forum thread  as Rob will post on it when he has sent any updates via email.
