Port Vale manager Darren Moore said that Monday’s draw against Crewe with ten man Vale conceding late on will “stand us in good stead moving forward.”

Moore told the media: “I’m trying not to be too low because there was some heroic stuff out there. Credit to the boys because of the way they went about it – we started really well and got off to a great start
“At that late stage of the game you can never say you’re safe but you think they’re running out of ideas but we’re disappointed with how the goal came. We’ll definitely learn from that type of game which will stand us in good stead moving forward.”
The Vale manager also felt that the red card for debutant Rakeem Harper was justified adding: “I think Rekeem got the ball but I’ve got no complaints with the sending-off as you can’t leave the ground and it gives the referee a decision to make and he makes the right decision.”
