Very best wishes to Ryan. It did not work out for him at the Vale, but it didn’t work out for many this last couple of seasons. I always prefer to think well of people and wish Ryan all the best at his new club.

Loft was a hard working target man who unfortunately lacked goals, confidence or attacking threat at the Vale. The right decision for both parties to sell him for a transfer fee while still under contract.

Having failed as a goalscorer at Bristol in League 1 he repeated that at the Vale. Not seen anything that makes me think he will be any different at Cambridge but a good piece of work to get him off the books and looks like he has been replaced with strikers who have a record of scoring goals. A good move for both parties.

Wonderful news! Am incredulous that not only have Cambridge taken Ryan Loft off our hands but have even paid us to do so! Has Flitcroft re-emerged as DoF at the Abbey Stadium?

In my opinion Ryan Loft was the worst player we paid (substantial) money for since Dennis Butler squandered £30,000 on Bob Delgado back in 1978.
