England U17s were knocked out on penalties at the U17 European Championships quarter-final stage by Italy U17.
Port Vale striker Baylee Dipepa once again featured, making his seventh appearance for the side after coming on as a 59th minute substitute. The Valiants forward has netted four times for his country including one in this summer’s championships.
The match ended 1-1 in normal time with Italy triumphing 5-4. Dipepa at least had the consolation of netting in the penalty shootout.
The tournament has been a massive learning curve for the Port Vale youngster, who was virtually unknown at the start of last season.
The 17 year-old made his professional debut, scored his first senior goal and landed a professional contract last season.
His talent has reportedly drawn the interest of bigger clubs with the likes of Man Utd, Aston Villa and West Ham all linked with the youngster.
