Trevor Brissett was a locally born full-back who began his career at Stoke City. He was signed by Port Vale in 1980 and made sixty appearances during a two year stay at Vale Park. He was given a free transfer in 1982 and moved on to Darlington. He then moved into non-League football with spells at Stafford Rangers, Witton Albion, Macclesfield Town, and Newcastle Town.
Brissett sadly died of cancer in 2010.
