Former Vale defender Kiko moves to Portugal’s top-flight
Former Port Vale left-back Kiko has been signed by FC Arouca of the Primeira Liga.
The Portuguese player was signed by Bruno Ribeiro and was seen as one of the more successful of the many foreign imports that season.
His first game was a Football League Trophy game in late August and he was a fairly regular pick until Ribeiro left the club. On his departure, manager Michael Brown favoured Scott Tanser and Kjell Knops on the left of defence.
He was released by manager Brown at the end of the season after playing 21 games.
He signed for Académico de Viseu in the Portuguese second tier last season, making 23 appearances and the 25 year-old has now stepped up to the top-flight.
