Manager Neil Aspin has strongly criticised the attitude of recent signing Chris Regis.
Regis wasn’t included in the matchday squad for the draw with Yeovil Town.
When he does the necessary things you need to be a professional footballer then I will consider picking him…
After the game, Aspin told the media: “Chris Regis wasn’t on the bench because his attitude and everything outside of the football has not been good enough and that is why he wasn’t considered.
“When he does the necessary things you need to be a professional footballer then I will consider picking him. He needs to earn the respect of the other players and of the staff. In the last few weeks he hasn’t done that.
“I won’t have any player, no matter how good he is, or how good he could be…if they don’t deserve to play then they won’t play.
“There is no excuse for that. We all have bad games and get decision go against you, there are things in football that you can’t legislate for, but what you can do is make sure you train properly, are professional in your approach and do everything right. So, when it comes to the games, you are considered to play and are in a position where you are ready to play and do your job.
“I will not tolerate anybody who doesn’t do that.”
