Defender Adam Yates has told the Sentinel newspaper that there are “no major issues” in the contract offer he has received.
Yates missed the whole of last season through injury but was offered a new deal in the summer which will make it a nine year stay with the club.
Yates told the newspaper: “We are trying to agree something but there are not any major issues. I am keeping myself fit throughout the summer until we are back in and I am desperate to stay at a club that I love and have given a big part of my life to.
“I have been through some good and bad times here– administration, promotion and relegation and with quite a few managers and players. I am desperate to stay but we will see what happens.”
