Our survival is still down to us
Tom from the @unofficialvale Twitter account has been encouraged by Vale’s recent performances and thinks the club can survive in League One.
He writes…
I think we can all agree that we have been playing much better football over the last two games, regardless of the results. We gained a fantastic away point against Southend on Saturday and vitally our survival is still down to us.
It’s safe to say that this next couple of weeks will define our season and we need to concentrate on our games only and get as many points as possible…
We have a huge weekend coming up asnot only do we play Swindon the team one point above us in the table, but Oldham play Bury which will could one of them drop points. Finally Coventry play Shrewsbury which will probably see one of them drop points in the relegation race.
Then, we have more opportunities to leave the bottom four as we play teams around us Northampton (A), Shrewsbury (H) and Coventry (A). It’s safe to say that this next couple of weeks will define our season and we need to concentrate on our games only and get as many points as possible.
I’m ‘hedging’ my bet and saying that if we play like we have over the last two games, with a centre-half back this weekend and Reggie not far behind, we will be a league One team next season.
For the sake of the club and the fans, I hope I’m right!
