Mick Ede: a milestone but still a long way to go for Andoh
Port Vale coach Mick Ede said Wednesday’s reserve team appearance was a milestone for winger Enoch Andoh.
The winger has been out injured with an anterior cruciate injury for seventeen months and this game was his first appearance since then.
Ede told the Sentinel: “It is a milestone for Enoch, as much as it is for us, to get him 45 minutes. We could have played him for 30 minutes rather than 45 but we thought if he plays the 30 then he will get the natural breaks to get through to 45.
“We thought that would be a hell of a lot more pleasing for Enoch than us taking him off after 30.”
However, there is a still a considerable way to go until there is any chance of Andoh appearing in a Vale shirt. For a start he is out of contract and his agent is apparently in dispute with Vale owner Norman Smurthwaite after an argument over a contract offer.
