Bruno Ribeiro bemoans Vale injury list
Port Vale manager Bruno Ribeiro says that his side did well at Shrewsbury considering “six of our normal starting eleven” were missing.
Vale were held by struggling Shrewsbury in a dour goalless draw but Ribeiro said the side did well considering the absence of Anthony Grant through suspension plus existing injuries to Ben Purkiss, Sam Foley and Jerome Thomas. Martin Paterson and Anton Forrester were ruled out of the game this week to join a mounting injury list.
We had six of our normal starting 11 not playing and it is not easy…
Ribeiro told the media: “We wanted to win, it was an important three points for us. But we did everything on the pitch. We had six of our normal starting 11 not playing and it is not easy but these players had a good attitude and tried to win, we just needed a goal.
“We did our best, had a great attitude and had the better opportunities. But it is one point. We wanted three but we will keep going and working and look forward to the FA Cup next Sunday which is very important for us.”
