Manager Bruno Ribeiro is set to make wholesale changes to Vale’s team to face Mansfield Town in the Checkatrade Trophy.
Competition rules say Vale will have to start with six of the 14 players who appeared on Saturday.
But after the Valiants succumbed to a very disappointing home defeat to Coventry City on Saturday Ribeiro told the media: “I will make six changes because some players are tired. Some players are very tired and need rest.”
It could mean that the likes of Sebastien Amoros, Rigino Cicilia and Quentin Pereira are brought into Vale’s side.
