Michael Brown hopes Rigino Cicilia will take confidence from opening goal
Port Vale assistant manager Michael Brown says he hopes that Rigino Cicilia’s opening goal for the club will give the striker “confidence.”
Cicilia scored his first Vale goal in the 2-2 draw with Oxford after he was brought into the side to replace Martin Paterson.
You could see what the goal meant to him, with his celebration…
It has taken the tall striker twelve appearances to get on the scoresheet but Brown is confident the striker will now play with more confidence as a result.
Brown commented: “Hopefully that will give him the confidence that’s needed. He’s not had the best of times and even in this game there were certain times when you were thinking he’s not there yet. We are still working with him every day and you could see what the goal meant to him, with his celebration, then he got the penalty.
“We are still working with him. He is a young boy and hopefully it will give him the confidence to try to get some more minutes.”
