Port Vale’s defence is currently the meanest in the entire Football League

After five games, Bruno Ribeiro’s Port Vale side have the meanest defence in the entire Football League.

The Valiants have conceded just two goals in their opening five league games putting them at the top of the pile defensively.

It is an impressive achievement for a defensive unit featuring two rookie centre-halves, a young goalkeeper and a left-back who is new to the English game and bodes well for the rest of the season.

Thank you for Andrew White for spotting this and tweeting about it.
