Port Vale went down to a friendly defeat against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening.

Anthony Grant surprisingly started just hours after his transfer request was revealed by the club.

After a quiet start, Forest took the lead on 40 minutes through Matt Mills and doubled it on the hour mark from Assombalonga.

Vale were restricted to chances for Thomas, Mbamba and Hooper as they recorded their first friendly defeat of the summer.
