Manager Rob Page says the Valiants still have a lot to play for as the season nears an end.
Page told the official Port Vale website: “I’ve had a meeting with them. It’s a six game season now and don’t they dare take the foot off the pedal now and see the season out.
“There’s still a hell of a lot to play for, there’s players playing for contracts so it’s an opportunity for them to go and put their stamp on it and make our minds up as coaches.
“From a supporters point of view as well they don’t want to finish the season in disappointment.
“All the effort we’ve put in throughout the season, make it count for something, let’s finish on a high. We’ve got a six game season and the first game is Chesterfield away.”
