As owner speaks to potential buyer, Vale announce “fans forum”
Port Vale have announced that the club will hold at least one fans forum in early March.
Earlier this week, owner Norman Smurthwaite told BBC Radio Stoke that one buyer had entered an “exclusivity” agreement with him and was currently studying the club’s books. If the buyer is happy then the sale could be completed by the end of February.
If that is the case, the timing of a fans forum in early March is perhaps no coincidence. Either way, whether the club is either sold or not sold by early March, fans will doubtless have plenty of issues that they will wish to raise.
Club statement
A statement on the official website says: “The Club will be hosting a fans’ forum on the evening of Tuesday 1st March.
There will be around 400 seats available in the Valiant Suite and season ticket holders will have priority in gaining entry.
Tickets can be collected from the official Club shop on Hamil Road prior to, and for a short time after, the Southend United match on Friday 26th February.
A second fans’ forum may be announced for Thursday 3rd March, should the demand be great enough.
More information regarding the fans’ forum will be released in the coming weeks.”
