Peter Billing player profile:
Centre-half Peter Billing started his career with hometown club Everton in 1985 and had a further spell with Crewe Alexandra (1986 to 1989) before joining Port Vale FC from Coventry City.
Billing initially joined the Valiants on loan from Coventry in February 1993 and did enough to persuade manager John Rudge to agree a £35,000 permanent transfer in May 1993.
During his loan spell, Billing appeared as a substitute in Port Vale’s successful Autoglass Trophy final at Wembley stadium. In his second season, 1993-94, Billing played nine times as Port Vale won promotion. He played just six times in the 1994-95 season and was released in the summer. He subsequently had a spell with Hartlepool United and a second spell with Crewe before dropping into non-league with a spell at Northwich Victoria.
His twelve year Football League playing career spanned 281 games and two goals.
