Page proud after making a point
Manager Rob Page paid tribute to his team’s ten men and the way they battled to a point against an impressive Preston side.
Page told the media: “We have got tonight what we have deserved for the last three games. It was a proper battling performance by the lads, down to 10 men as well, but this epitomised the character they have in that changing room.
They showed a lot of character, but neither I nor the staff are surprised by it. We see it every day in training…
“I have been ready to tell them how proud I am for the last couple of games and unfortunately I have gone in after the fifth minute of injury-time and had to change my team talk.
“But here I can’t be any more proud of that group of players and I think the supporters recognise that.
“They showed a lot of character, but neither I nor the staff are surprised by it. We see it every day in training.”
“When you have a group of lads like that it makes your job easier.”
