Pope: I don’t want to leave
Striker Tom Pope has reiterated that he doesn’t want to leave the Valiants, that it’s not just about the money but also “about feeling wanted as well.”
The striker has been told that he would have to take a significant paycut if the Vale are to afford to offer him a new deal next season and the forward told the Sentinel: “I have always said I don’t want to leave and that has not changed.
If I have to take a pay cut then I am not going to rush off to another club for the sake of say £200 a week, but it is about feeling wanted as well…
“The chairman has to look after the club, and of course I understand that, but from my point of view I have to look after my family. We will see what happens later in the season.
