Coach Mark Grew has told the official Port Vale website that three key players have handed the club fitness boosts.
Midfielder Michael O’Connor was a doubt after picking up a knee injury during the game against Chesterfield. However, the midfielder was able to train on Monday and is expected to be in contention for Saturday.
Meanwhile, Tom Pope and Ryan McGivern are close to making comebacks. According to Grew, Pope “joined in with the warm-up this morning where he did the passing routines and ball work and then we took him off with the physio.”
Meanwhile, according to Grew “Ryan McGivern is very, very close. Obviously we’ve got to wait for that bone to heal but yes things are looking bright on that side.”
