Adams pleased to make his point
Manager Micky Adams says he is happy to take a point from the opening game of the season against Walsall.
Adams told the media: “I’m pleased with a point. We’ve played against a decent side, got something out of the game and we are up and running.
“I was very pleased with what I saw in the first half when some of our play was excellent. Mark Marshall caused Walsall a lot of problems down the left and delivered some very good crosses into the box.
I was very pleased with what I saw in the first half when some of our play was excellent. Mark Marshall caused Walsall a lot of problems…
“It looked like we may get a second goal, but then we weren’t so good in the second half and Walsall had their moments.
“I warned my players about dropping too deep and allowing their man in the hole too much room, but they didn’t do anything about it.
“In the end we had to change our system to combat Walsall, which was disappointing but sometimes you have to do what you have to do.
“You never know what you are going to get from your new players, but we will keep working with them and they will get to know what I expect.
“It will take time and we will get better. We will pin a few things down in training and move on.”
