Vale set to lose two trialists
Trialist Michael O’Connor is set to join Sylvester Guyonnet in leaving Port Vale in the near future.
The Valiants announced that they have release Guyonnet after an unsuccessful trial and although the club would like to sign O’Connor, it appears that his wages are out of Vale’s reach.
O’Connor indicated on Twitter that he would have to take a 60% wage cut if he were to join the club so any move now appears to be very unlikely.
Meanwhile, the club believe there are some aspects missing in Guyonnet’s game and therefore they are letting him go.
It leaves Steve Jennings as the sole trialist at the club with Micky Adams set to make a decision on the former Tranmere man soon.
Meanwhile, O’Connor’s likely exit leaves Vale short of numbers next season with Adams likely to test out more trialists or turn to the long-term loan market.
