Fans urged to report Wolves trouble
The Port Vale Supporters Club have called on Vale fans to contact them after their were reports of bad behaviour at the Wolves game.
We could clearly see who was doing it but, when we pointed them out to the stewards, they refused to do anything about it…
Police arrested five Vale fans but there were reports of objects being thrown at the large travelling Vale contingent as well as violence outside the ground.
This is the second time that there has been trouble between the two sides this season.
Port Vale Supporters Club chairman Ally Simcock told the media: “The Wolves fans were in the stand above us and throughout the second half they were throwing bottles of pop, coins and lighters down at us.
“We could clearly see who was doing it but, when we pointed them out to the stewards, they refused to do anything about it.
“It’s a wonder nobody was seriously hurt. They were only interested if someone had been injured, but by that point it would have been too late.
“Outside the ground the police formed lines between the two sets of supporters, but at the other end of the street they were allowed to run at each other. We told the police this, but they weren’t interested.”
