Carl Dickinson signs for Port Vale
Carl Dickinson signs for Port Vale: the Valiants have confirmed the signature of Carl Dickinson – a major coup for the League One side.
The former Stoke City and Watford defender has agreed a one-year deal. He is expected to play in one of Port Vale’s weekend friendly games – against Leek Town and Alfreton. The experienced left-sided defender has more then two hundred senior appearances to his name.
Manager Micky Adams told the official Port Vale FC website: “Carl has performed at a higher level than League One and that experience will be invaluable for us, especially as he can perform in two positions.”
“I am certain that he can make a positive contribution to the squad and look forward to working with him this season.”
Dickinson is the club’s sixth signing of the summer – joining Chris Lines, Chris Robertson, Gavin Tomlin, Kaid Mohammed and Anthony Griffith in the Valiants’ ranks.
