A report on the Sky Sports website claims that Ashley Vincent has turned down Port Vale’s offer of a new contract.
I have unfortunately not been able to agree a new deal and I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds…
According to Sky, the winger told them: “I have really enjoyed my spell at Port Vale and to get promoted was a massive achievement by the boys. I am sure they will do well next season.
“I have unfortunately not been able to agree a new deal and I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds.”
“I’ve got nothing sorted as yet, I am just going to have a break with my family for a bit.
“I hear a few clubs may be in for me, but we will have to see what happens.”
This could simply be Vincent’s agent trying to get the best possible deal out of the club or it could mean that the winger is genuinely looking elsewhere. At this time of year when contracts are up in the air, it is difficult to know whether these sort of stories have any credence or now.
27 year-old Vincent made 40 appearances for Vale, scoring eight times after joining on a free transfer in the summer.
