Adams hails inspirational Vale Park crowd
Micky Adams has hailed the Vale Park support and wants to “thank each one of them” after a near 11,000 crowd saw the Valiants thrash promotion rivals Burton 7-1.
To see so many fans at Vale Park … that’s why I came to the club in the first place…
Speaking to the media after the game, Adams said: “The performance was fuelled by the supporters.
“To see so many fans at Vale Park … that’s why I came to the club in the first place.
“I saw the potential here, the supporters showed that and I thank each one of them.
“We want them to come back because they didn’t half give the lads a buzz.
“It was nice that the team from 1994 were there to see it too. We wanted to put on a show.”
“We want more of this, so let’s hope we have another special night on Tuesday.
“I’ve given the lads a couple of days off because I want them bright and ready for Monday morning, and we’ll approach the Aldershot game in the same positive manner.
“When we play the way we played against Burton, with that intensity and work rate and some good football as well, we’re a match for anyone.”
