Pope: ‘I’d love to get four again’
Striker Tom Pope has told the Sentinel that he is looking forward to the game against Rotherham and he’s hoping for a repeat performance of the four goals he scored against the Millers in September.
It was probably my best 90 minutes as a professional.
Pope scored four times in a 6-2 Vale victory and Pope told the newspaper: “That first game was brilliant for me and I’d love to get four again. They were, and still are in my eyes, promotion favourites, but we took them apart that day.
“It was probably my best 90 minutes as a professional. As a striker, you dream about that sort of thing, and not much will beat it for me on a personal level.
“Of course, it will be nigh on impossible to do it again, but that won’t stop me trying.
“But I wouldn’t mind if I didn’t score at all, just as long as we win the game.”
