Rob Headlines tadgh purcell

Former Northampton Town striker Tadhg Purcell is training with the Valiants as Micky Adams looks to add more new faces to his Port Vale squad.

Purcell was released by Northampton at the end of the season and is a free agent.

Name:
Tadgh Purcell
Date of birth:
9th Feb 1985
Clubs:
Kilkenny City, Shamrock Rovers, Darlington, Northampton, Cork City (loan)
Games *:
31+3
Goals *:
10
* England Football League games/goals only

His spell at Town had been disrupted by injuries which sidelined him for the whole of the 2010/2011 season.

“We are having a look at him,” manager Micky Adams told the newspaper.

“We’ll assess him over the five or six weeks and see where we go from there.”

Vale are in the market for a forward following the departures of Marc Richards and Sean Rigg.
