Lloyd: there is no money to spend
Mike Lloyd has confirmed that Micky Adams was right when the manager claimed that the club has no funds for January transfers. After the Cheltenham defeat, Adams told the press that the board has stopped player recruitment, despite Adams previously being given assurances that he would be handed vital transfer funds by then Chairman Peter Miller.
Now Vale’s vice-chairman Mike Lloyd has backed up Adams’s comments, telling the Sentinel: “I met with Micky after Monday’s match and he told me what he had said regarding Peter Miller’s promises of money being available.
“That totally sums up the situation and I have nothing to add to Micky’s comments.
“In any event, I will never comment on playing matters, as this is totally Micky’s domain.”
