That man Ian Bogie scores once again to secure Port Vale’s double over Stoke City in the 1995/6 season.

Talented playmaker Bogie had been the match winner in the previous Potteries Derby match which had taken place in August. Vale had won that fixture 1-0 thanks to Bogie’s strike.
The midfielder was to be instrumental as Port Vale do the double over Stoke City that season with another matchwinning strike in the return fixture in March 1996. The match took place in front of a crowd of more than 16,000.
Stoke City were to prove a particular favourite of Bogie as he added a third goal against the Potters the following season and in the process recorded the fastest-ever goal by Port Vale FC.
Bogie would make over 150 appearances for the Valiants and will also be remembered for a brace of FA Cup goals against Everton which helped Vale to a famous giantkilling.
