Maybe Askey would rather we had a bigger playing budget?

I know we needed one and maybe he is pushing for that?
Are you having a laugh? Your first sentence is beyond belief.

The word from the club was same size budget as last year but spread across fewer players. Nobody said bigger, or for that matter smaller. Anyway, the club would be crazy to go spouting off if the budget had increased, equally the fans would be up in arms if the club stated that the budget were to be cut. The proof of the pudding is the players that come through the door and this season theyíll be signed by the manager not some deluded clown trying to unearth his next saleable asset.

Have a think about this. Which is less likely - that Askey will want to work for our former owner again or that any club in the football league will let our former owner anywhere near it?

Money talks and if a multi millionaire rolls up and talks a load of bull@hit he would be welcome if you were in administration.Cant believe the EFL would allow him to own another club after threatening to put our club into admin. But those horrible fans were demonstrating against him and not buying his pies.
Askey is probably holding out for a better offer from other clubs to strengthen his hand in negotiations.
The problem is until he signs we can’t sign players who will soon be going on their holidays and want a deal.
Baldrick Brown waited until the end of the transfer window and we ended up with the dross no one else wanted.

What is likely about the ďbudget comparable to last year statement??

    1. It actually is, which was supposedly in the top ten in the League anyway.

    2. Itís actually LESS than last year, but itís being spun as comparable to avoid any negativity detrimental to season ticket sales / ability to attract players.

    3. Itís actually MORE than last year, but we donít want supporters getting over-inflated expectations or us being held to ransom by players/agents.

No, I donít know either. But time will tell.

Remember hearing Ray Williams on the radio saying that Askey was going to be our permanent manager. Admittedly this was about a month ago but he said he knew him personally and had known him for a long time. He said Askey wanted the Vale job . Unless something new has arisen cant see why anything would change particularly now we appear to have sensible grown ups running the club.

And this is the point! Instead of riding on the feel good wave, giving the indication things are going right on track, fans are now starting to get annoyed. So if/when it's announced, it won't be a 'happy days' story, but get the 'finally' or even worse if he doesn't sign treatment.
Of course we shouldn't pay him stupid money, but this absolute lack of news "things are going well" stuff. We've heard it 1000 times before, just for it to go **** up.

hmmm...Vale fans are so impatient!!! It's comments like these that brought about the "sweetie jar" responses from Smurf which so mahy of you thought were patronising...but served you right - you were doing the equivalent of "are we there yet..." and doing it, now! Patience isn't just a card game!

To be fair, two weeks is a long time to be negotiating a key appointment!
Until we have a manger, the squad build up is at a complete standstill!
Unless you want to ring Smurthwait, and let him do the signings like in Jan? On a consulent basis perhaps?
Askey said he wanted to stay and blablabla but have been dragging negotiations on, in what seems like forever now.
Weíve had almost a decade of being fed absolute b...s... so excuse me, for being a bit impatient, over something both parties made out to be nothing more than dotting the iís.

What are you going on about? Itís completely different to Jan and Askey will have targets in mind ready to bring in. Just chill, enjoy the summer and stop worrying about things you canít change.
