    Aretha Franklin

A sad loss. Lent her voice to all manner of musical genres and with aplomb. Respect.

A sad passing. She was simply brilliant, one of the greatest voices of all time.

Aretha the undoubted "Queen of Soul", incredible, distinctive voice, brilliant performer, there are not enough superlatives to describe this true legend, very sad day.

Music and performing doesn't get any better than this, she wrecked the house.

A great singer and a great actress. Her appearance in the Blues Brothers was tremendous.

Urethra Franklin is possibly the only singer to be named after a Genito urinary body part.

The most body parts in any entertainer’s title are of course the four found in the name of 60’s rubber faced comedian Tony Hancock.
