    The Run in

A quick recap of the remaining games.

The way I see it the current bottom 2 are most likely for the drop but if one, or both of them, put a run together then there are 6 teams with very little to separate them just above the relegation zone.

Yeovil seem to have a pretty tough run in but what strikes me is the number of relegation 6 pointers that are still to be played. Hopefully this will limit the number of points available at the bottom of the table but who knows how they will be shared.

While there is still a lot of football to be played I think that if we can scrape a couple of wins from somewhere we should be ok.

A draw against Barnet will be ok, a defeat isn't worth thinking about. A win at Barnet all but seals our safety. We need get to around 42 points before the Easter weekend.

Always interesting to look at the possibilities, but if a club of our relative stature cannot finish above at least Morecambe & Barnet then questions need to be asked.

Those are the points needed in the last few years for safety. Incredibly in 2016 that 35 points saw teams safe.

    Hey Darren,

How has the predicted safety for 17-18 been defined?

I'll be happy if it is that low.

Probably just run rate. If Chesterfield have 30 points from 35 then 9 from 11 feels about right I guess.

Reminder that *****thwaite will be in the Valiant Suite on 22/03 for the SC meeting. Ask away.

I really hope he IS there, but I still doubt that he will appear.

Looking at those fixtures I can't see Chesterfield or Barnet surviving, particularly Chesterfield as they have to play loads of 6 pointers and all those opponents will 'park the bus' because a draw suits them better than it does Chesterfield.
Of course that's not a given but I've been saying for a while now other teams will keep us up because whilst we're only picking up odd points from draws we will get another win or two as well and the other teams around us probably won't pick up many points at all.
Biggest games for us time now are Barnet on Tuesday, Chesterfield at home and Crewe away, don't lose the first two as a minimum and hammer the nonces on Easter Monday.

Pick up a couple of wins and a couple of draws and we will be fine imo
